The Escape of the Seven ratings continue their decline

After earning falling ratings but still holding its own against rival dramas My Dearest and Strong Girl Nam Soon in South Korea last week, The Escape of the Seven, Episode 11 aired on Friday night to the drama’s lowest rating ever.

According to Nielsen Korea, The Escape of the Seven, Episode 11 earned just 5.3 percent of the audience share nationwide, which is a drop from last week’s 5.7 percent.

In Seoul, the SBS drama also saw falling ratings as the revenge drama earned 5.3 percent of the audience share, down from Episode 10’s 5.9 percent.

Those ratings dropped The Escape of the Seven to the 9th most watched show nationwide on Friday, and the 7th most watched show in Seoul.

Meanwhile, My Dearest saw an increase in its ratings yet again last night.

Can The Escape of the Seven, Episode 12 rise back up?

Episode 12 of The Escape of the Seven will air later on tonight, and this time will be up against both My Dearest and Strong Girl Nam Soon in the same time slot.

Is it possible for the SBS drama to rise back up in the ratings then, or can we expect another drop later on tonight?

Honestly, there is no way of knowing but… do not count The Escape of the Seven out just yet.

After all, Episode 5 saw a drop to 5.6 percent nationwide and 5.5 percent in Seoul before the drama rallied and had risen back up to 7.3 percent/7.0 percent by its next episode.

Besides let’s face it, with six more episodes of the Um Ki Joon-led drama still to air, anything can happen.

The next episode of The Escape of the Seven will air tonight on SBS at 22:00 (KST), with international viewers able to watch it soon after on Viki and Kocowa.

Fingers crossed we see a ratings bump, eh?
