The sad truth is, after last night, there are only five more episodes to air before the fabulous Korean drama The Fiery Priest 2 ends its 12-episode run.
The good news?
The Fiery Priest 2, Episode 7 aired on Friday night to very steady ratings — maintaining its lead as the most-watched K-drama of the evening, as the superb When the Phone Rings nicely increased its ratings, but still fell a distant second.
Those ratings via Nielsen Korea were 11.6%Â nationwide (down from its previous episode’s 12.8%, but still a very high rating), and a higher 12.0%Â from audiences in Seoul (compared to the 12.6 percent Episode 6 aired in the same region).
Will The Fiery Priest 2 be as successful as its first season?
With the K-drama’s recent ratings, though, it also appears I could be wrong on The Fiery Priest 2 grabbing the same high ratings as its first season.
After all, at this point in the Korean drama’s run (Episode 24 is around 58% of Season 1’s 40-episode run, whereas Episode 7 is 58% of Season 2’s), the first season of The Fiery Priest was earning 17.9% of the nationwide ratings and a higher 19.6% in Seoul.
Sure, we will see how the rest of the ratings pan out for The Fiery Priest 2‘s final five episodes and, there is no doubt it has already been a big success, just likely not quite as big of a one as its first venture out.
The Fiery Priest 2 stars Kim Nam Gil, Kim Sung Kyun, and Lee Hanee with Sung Joon, Seo Hyun Woo, and Bibi.
Let’s see how its next episode fares, which airs later on tonight, eh?
