True to Love Ep. 8 earns LARGEST audience yet – is Bo Ra! Deborah finding its stride?

The hilarious K-drama True to Love, Ep. 8 could be finally finding its audience

True to Love, Episode 8 (aka Bo Ra! Deborah) aired last night in South Korea and managed to grab its biggest nationwide audience yet.

With the latest Nielsen Korea ratings now out, that audience rose from the previous episode’s 0.98 percent of viewers to last night’s 1.19 percent.

That means the ongoing ENA drama has now increased its audience from its premiere episode of just 0.66 percent to 1.19 percent — almost doubling its viewers in seven episodes.

Last night’s higher numbers also placed the drama in the 9th spot nationwide for number of viewers.

In Seoul, while the number of True to Love, Episode 8 viewers also increased — 1.39 percent to 1.55 percent — they didn’t increase as much as those nationwide.

In fact, the fifth episode of True to Love still remains the most-watched among the Seoul audience.

With True to Love, Episode 8 earning the romantic comedy drama’s largest audience yet though, it also suggests Bo Ra! Deborah (sorry, but I prefer that title) is finally finding its stride.

We will know if that is true when the ratings are out for next week’s episode.

Hopefully so, though, as I am currently watching the drama along with millions of other international viewers who are all similarly loving it.

What is True to Love/Bo Ra! Deborah?

The bland and quickly forgettable title of True to Love is what the west calls the Korean drama Bo Ra! Deborah, a 14-episode romantic comedy currently airing on ENA in South Korea.

The drama follows dating coach and social media influencer Yeon Bo Ra (played by the fabulous Yoo In Na) who, while she is superb at giving other people advice about their relationships, sucks when it comes to her own.

So much so, her current relationship is a disaster.

Then along comes publishing planner Lee Soo Hyuk (Yoon Hyun Min), a man with a pathetic love life, but one who is desperate to publish Bo Ra’s next book.

Of course, the pair suddenly start to become closer than either expected.

True to Love, aka Bo Ra! Deborah, is now airing via ENA in South Korea every Wednesday and Thursday at 21:00 (KST). Its next episode will premiere on Wednesday, May 10th at the same time.

Sadly, True to Love (aka Bo Ra! Deborah) is only streaming via Amazon Prime Video outside South Korea, which cuts it off from millions of potential viewers who prefer to pay for Netflix’s much larger library of content.
