A Shop for Killers Season 2 confirmed along with returning cast and 3 new cast members

The official X account for Disney+ Korea has announced the production of A Shop for Killers, Season 2 has been confirmed along with its returning cast and three newcomers.

The first season of the Korean drama, starring Lee Dong Wook and Kim Hye Joon, was a huge hit on the American streaming platform becoming the most viewed local original on Disney+ by Asia Pacific subscribers.

Now, A Shop for Killers, Season 2 is in production and, yes, Lee Dong Wook and Kim Hye Joon are returning to reprise their roles as uncle Jin Man and niece Jung Ji An. Yay!

Also returning to their roles are Jo Han Sun (who plays Bale), Geum Hae Na (Min Hye), Lee Tae Young (“Brother”) and Kim Min (Pasin).

Don’t get too excited just yet though, as A Shop for Killers, Season 2 is not scheduled to release until some time in 2026.

New cast members joining A Shop for Killers, Season 2

As if getting all those returning cast members wasn’t fabulous enough and, yes, it is a major feat to get so many actors’ schedules aligned, the three new cast members that have been announced are also stellar.

And, interestingly, two of them are Japanese.

They are:

  • Hyunri (Eye Love You) – the Japanese-Korean actress will play “Q”, the Babylon East Asia branch team leader
  • Okada Masaki (Mikami Sensei) — is playing “Q’s” younger brother “J”, who is also the co-leader of the team
  • Jung Yun Ha (The Trunk) — plays Kusanagi, the Babylon East Asia branch head.

And I would venture a guess that, with at least two well-known Japanese actors joining the cast, we can probably expect some of A Shop for Killers, Season 2 to take place in Japan.

Wouldn’t you?

The first season of A Shop for Killers premiered internationally on Disney+ on January 17th, 2024, and ran until February 7th.

It went on to receive positive reviews from most critics, both Korean and international, while viewers scored it with incredibly high ratings.

So much so, even the often-annoyed users of My Drama List (MDL) are still awarding the Korean action thriller an incredibly high (for that platform) 8.8 out of 10 over a year after it ended.

Three actors from the series — Seo Hyun Woo, Geum Hae Na and Ki Hye Jun — were nominated for acting awards at the 2024 Blue Dragon Series Awards in South Korea, with Geum Hae Na winning for Best Supporting Actress.

A Shop for Killers was also placed on several critics’ Best K-dramas of 2024 lists, including those at Time magazine, NME and the South China Morning Post.

If you haven’t yet had chance to watch this superb Korean drama, you can check out the first 8-episode season via Hulu now.
