It appears the incredibly busy Korean actors Song Joong Ki and Chun Woo Hee won’t be taking a break from acting any time soon, as both have just been confirmed as starring in the upcoming K-drama My Youth.
That confirmation came on the production company HighZium Studio’s website, with the company also going into detail about the My Youth plot, its director and writer.
My Youth is written by Park Si Hyun (Run On), and is being directed by Lee Sang Yeop (Yumi’s Cells).
HighZium is producing the Korean drama.
The plot of My Youth
According to the production company, My Youth follows Sun Woo Hae (played by Song Joong Ki) who, for certain reasons during his youth, began his normal life later than others.
The title My Youth refers to Woo Hae’s early life and his relationship with his first love Sung Je Yeon (Chun Woo Hee), who he suddenly reunites with after being apart for more than 10 years.
Woo Hae, now a florist and novelist, was once a child actor who lost his career due to the greed of the adults who ran it, and has since been forgotten by the entertainment world.
Nowadays, after escaping that tumultuous life, he is living peacefully until Sung Je Yeon, who has a not-so-perfect past of her own, suddenly appears in his life.
Now Woo Hae suddenly finds his peaceful life being disrupted, while Je Yeon also revisits her earlier life through Woo Hae. A life when, it appears, she was much happier.
As HighZium explains about the plot:
Their glorious journey is sure to bring comfort and high emotion to the drama’s viewers.
