Country Band Little Big Town was on The Ellen Show this week, where they sang their hit ‘Girl Crush‘. It’s the second single from their latest album, Pain Killer, and is about a woman who has a crush on another woman but, not because of the woman herself. Instead it’s because she is with a man the first woman wants. So, yes, no girl crush at all. Just common everyday jealousy.
As for the song itself, the lead is beautifully sung by Karen Fairchild, whose sultry tones and way of singing it work perfectly. The song itself is simple with very little instrumentation but, once you start to listen to the lyrics, it’s incredibly effective. Quite powerful really.
