Queen of Tears climbs to #3 on Netflix Top 10 – up 4 spots from last week!

Queen of Tears on Netflix Top 10 for 2nd week

The new Korean drama Queen of Tears is not only performing well on tvN where it airs in South Korea, it has also quickly become one of the most popular shows on Netflix internationally.

According to the latest data from Netflix via their Tudum platform, Queen of Tears climbed from last week’s #7 position on the Top 10 Non-English TV Shows chart, which it grabbed just two days after it was released, to this week’s #3 for the period March 11th to March 17th, 2024.

The Korean drama got to that position after being viewed more than 3.4 million times worldwide, for a total number of 19.1 million hours viewed.

The drama was also in the Top 10 in 28 countries.

With a heavy reliance on other Asian nations, some of those countries were Hong Kong, India, Japan, Pakistan, Oman, Qatar, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Australia, New Zealand, Egypt and Nigeria.

Queen of Tears going gangbusters in South Korea too

Meanwhile, in South Korea, Episode 4 of Queen of Tears aired on March 17th to its highest ratings yet — jumping from Episode 3’s already high rating of 9.59 percent to Episode 4’s 12.98 percent, and grabbing double digits for the first time.

That’s also more than a 3.0 percent increase in audience share in just one episode, which also may bode well for an even better performance with future episodes.

Queen of Tears stars Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won.

The Korean romantic comedy premiered on March 9th, 2024, with the 16-episode series currently scheduled to come to an end on April 28th.

The way people are currently talking about it all over social media pretty much guarantees this one will likely be a big hit from beginning to end. Yay!

You can watch its first four episodes on Netflix now.
