The Atypical Family hits Netflix Top 10 Non-English TV Shows chart during 2nd week of release

The ongoing Korean drama The Atypical Family has climbed onto the Netflix Top 10 Non-English TV Shows chart during the second week of its release on the streaming platform.

According to Netflix’s Tudum, The Atypical Family (aka 히어로는 아닙니다만 in Korean) is now at #6 on the chart with just four episodes currently available to watch.

It hit the chart for the period May 6th to May 12th after being viewed over 2 million times, for over 7.6 million hours watched.

The fantasy romance drama was also in the Top 10 in 21 countries during that period, including Morocco, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Thailand, the UAE and, of course, the K-drama’s home country of South Korea.

The Atypical Family also rising in ratings

Along with the Korean drama’s success on Netflix, The Atypical Family is also seeing its ratings rise in South Korea.

With Episode 4 airing on May 12th on JTBC, it grabbed 4.05 percent of the audience share nationwide, which is an increase from its previous episode of close to 1.0 percent. (Data via Nielsen Korea)

The K-drama performed even better in Seoul, where it grabbed 4.77 percent of the viewership — up from Episode 3’s rating of 3.24 percent.

Both ratings, of course, were the Korean drama’s highest yet.

The Atypical Family stars the interesting main cast of Jang Ki Yong, Chun Woo Hee, Go Doo Shim and Claudia Kim.

It airs every Saturday and Sunday on JTBC in South Korea, with episodes appearing on Netflix for its international users soon after.

Episode 5 of the K-drama will premiere on Saturday, May 18th.
