The ratings for The Escape of the Seven: Resurrection, Episode 5 are out via Nielsen Korea and, thankfully, the Korean drama seems to have begun attracting its core audience back.

The nationwide rating for The Escape of the Seven: Resurrection, Episode 5, which aired on SBS in South Korea last night, was 3.1 percent, which is back up from its all-time low of 2.7 percent for Episode 4.

In Seoul, the Korean revenge thriller also saw a ratings increase — moving up from the previous episode’s 3.2 percent to last night’s 3.4 percent.

Both ratings are still the SBS drama’s second-lowest ever — and that includes Season 1 — but at least they’re heading in the right direction for once.

The Korean drama also still has 11 episodes of its run to air, so there is plenty of time to bring even more viewers into the fold.

The Escape of the Seven: Resurrection stars the ensemble cast of Um Ki Joon, Hwang Jung Eum, Lee Joon, Lee Yu Bi, Shin Eun Kyung, Yoon Jong Hoon, Jo Yoon Hee, and Jo Jae Yoon.

It is a SBS series that has cost the Korean network a lot of money to produce — reports say at least $41 million — with a sizeable chunk of that likely the salaries for its stellar cast.

Let’s hope that the K-drama’s ratings keep rising then, so they can recoup more of that money spent, eh?

The next episode of The Escape of the Seven: Resurrection will air tonight on SBS, with Viki streaming both Resurrection and the drama’s first season for international viewers.
