The Midnight Studio Ep 7 ratings see drop to all-time low as international viewers LOVE it

The ongoing Korean fantasy romance drama The Midnight Studio, Episode 7 ratings are out, and let’s just say the cast and staff will not be happy.

According to Nielsen Korea, The Midnight Studio, Ep 7 ratings nationwide last night fell to 1.76 percent.

That is a sizable drop from its previous episode’s 2.23 percent, and a new all-time low for the Korean drama in South Korea.

In Seoul, the Korean drama experienced an even larger drop, falling from Episode 6’s rating of 2.26 percent to Tuesday night’s 1.76 percent.

But, all is not lost, as the Korean drama’s ratings have been up and down since it premiered as one of the better rated ENA dramas.

International ratings for The Midnight Studio

Outside South Korea, however, the fantasy drama appears to be performing much better. At least with its ratings from viewers.

On My Drama List, a platform where users tend to be strict with their ratings, the Korean drama is already being rated a strong 8.2 out of 10 and, on Viki, where the K-drama is streaming, viewers are awarding it a very high 9.6 out of 10.

Comments are also very positive ranging from this one via My Drama List after Episode 6:

Another beautiful heartwarming and heart-wrenching episode. I swear this drama keeps surprising me and I am loving it.

From the acting to the beautiful chemistry between the leads and the the emotionally captivating stories of the deceased…I am loving every moment of this drama…..and I definitely can’t wait for more.

to this one from a Viki subscriber:

This drama will hit you in the feelz so make sure to have a Kleenex box within hand reach.

I rated this a ten due to the fact that the leads and even the supporting cast are superb.

I also applaud the writers for their ingenuity and creativeness in writing this drama, it has a little bit of everything, mild horror ( I say mild because well the make up on the ghosts is a little hilarious at times and then downright creepy), a little bit of romance, a little bit of comedy, and of course drama.

I normally don’t cry in dramas but this one hit me pretty good.

Like many, I’ve lost a loved one. I lost my eldest daughter when she was 6, so it hit me in the feelz pretty hard, and I was gonna skip the episode that had to do with a child. I’m glad I didn’t, as the ending to that story was beautiful and had me in tears. Bring tissues!!

In other words, while the audience in South Korea shrank last night, international viewers still seem to be absolutely lapping it up.
To the point that Soompi reported The Midnight Studio was one of the Top 5 dramas on Viki in March.
The Korean drama stars Joo Won, Kwon Nara, Yoo In Soo, and Eum Moon Suk.
It airs every Monday and Tuesday night on ENA and Genie TV in South Korea, with Viki streaming it for international viewers.
