Annie Lennox ‘I Put a Spell on You’ plays on The Morning Show, S3, Ep 7 as Paul and Alex are kissing – Listen

British singer songwriter Annie Lennox’ ‘I Put a Spell on You‘ was that sexy song playing on The Morning Show this week — The Morning Show, Season 3, Episode 7, “Strict Scrutiny“.

The song was heard close to the beginning of the episode, around the 2:30-minute mark, as Paul and Alex are kissing and rapidly moving into the bedroom.

It is one of more than half a dozen tracks used on the episode’s soundtrack, which includes songs from The Mamas & The Papas, and The Beachboys.

When was Annie Lennox’ ‘I Put a Spell on You‘ released?

The now-iconic singer’s version of ‘I Put a Spell on You‘, of course, is not the song’s original version.

Annie Lennox‘ cover of the famous 1956-original track came out in September, 2014 as the lead single from her sixth studio album Nostalgia, which was released on the Island record label.

The album comprises mostly cover songs, with the exception of a couple, and also includes songs like Gershwin’s ‘Summertime‘ and Billie Holiday’s ‘God Bless the Child‘.

Annie Lennox’ ‘I Put a Spell on You‘ was not a massive hit for the seemingly all-genres-of -music singer, but it did eventually hit the charts at #97 on the Billboard Hot 100, at #63 on the UK Singles chart, and at #29 on the French singles chart.

Although those chart rankings happened after the song was featured on the soundtrack of the hit film Fifty Shades of Grey.

The power of film, eh?
