The ongoing Korean historical drama Missing Crown Prince, Episode 3 achieved remarkable ratings in South Korea last night.

Not only did the K-drama manage to more than double its ratings, but it also did that even though it is airing in the same time slot as tvN’s Queen of Tears — which grabbed its highest-ever Saturday rating last night.

Those ratings for Missing Crown Prince, Episode 3 were 2.62 percent nationwide last night, which is a massive increase from its previous episode’s 1.14 percent — the K-drama’s lowest nationwide rating yet.

The Korean drama also earned 2.44 percent from audiences in Seoul, although it s more difficult to assess how much higher that was than last week as Nielsen Korea didn’t publish those results.

But it’s definitely higher.

In other words, it appears the production team deciding to delay the premiere of Missing Crown Prince, so that they could “deliver a production of utmost quality alongside a well-crafted story” may have just paid off, eh?

Let’s see how it performs tomorrow night then, eh?

Missing Crown Prince (known as 세자가 사라졌다 in Korea) stars Suho, Hong Ye Ji, Myung Se Bin, Kim Joo Hun, and Kim Min Kyu. (Here’s the official Missing Crown Prince poster featuring all the main cast).

It airs on MBN in South Korea every Saturday and Sunday evening, with Viki streaming the Korean drama for those of us outside Korea.
