Kaguya-sama: Love is War season 2 in production, teaser trailer and key visual released

Shueisha has announced a Kaguya-sama: Love is War Season 2. is in the works. That announcement, which was made at an event in Tokyo this weekend, came with a teaser trailer and a new key visual. (see below and above).

Of course, hearing about a second season is probably not that much of a surprise to most fans. After all, the romantic comedy series did very well in both Japan and the west when the first season was released in early January, 2019.

A live-action film based on the rom-com anime was also released in Japan in early September. Since it’s released, it has grossed around $18.5 million at the box office.

Kaguya-sama: Love is War is directed by Mamoru Hatakeyama, written by Yasuhiro Nakanishi and with character designs by character designer Yūko Yahiro.

The series is animated by A-1 Pictures.

The new season is to be called Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai? Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunōsen in Japanese, and all cast and staff will also be returning.

Watch the Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai? Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunōsen trailer below, and keep up-to-date on further announcements on the anime’s website.

If it’s available in your region (it’s not in mine!), you can watch the first season on Crunchyroll.
