Has Ryeoun accepted a role in Namib?
It appears Twinkling Watermelon‘s Ryeoun is currently in discussions to potentially lead a new drama alongside Go Hyun Jung!
Korean news media is reporting Ryeoun is actively considering a starring role in the upcoming drama Namib (working title).
You will remember we reported about Go Hyun Jung’s possible involvement in the new drama series yesterday, and mentioned the actor awarded the “male trainee” role had not been announced yet.
It now appears the supremely talented Ryeoun may just be that man.
Particularly as a spokesperson from Ryeoun’s agency, Lucky Company, has also replied to the news report with the statement:
Namib is one of the projects he has been offered. The actor is currently evaluating the offer.
What we know about Namib and Ryeoun’s potential involvement in it
As we also mentioned yesterday, the information about Namib as yet is still sparse.
We do know, though, that the K-drama tells the story of the relationship between a female CEO of an entertainment agency and a male trainee.
Earlier reports indicated that Go Hyun Jung was approached for the role of CEO Kang Soo Hyun, who initially approaches the male trainee Yoo Jin Woo with nefarious intentions, but eventually realizes helping him achieve his dreams may be the best thing for both of them.
Ryeoun, of course, is most recently known for his superb performance in last year’s tvN drama Twinkling Watermelon.
He also appeared in a guest role in the recent drama Death’s Game, starred in The Secret Romantic Guesthouse, Adult Trainee, and in IN-SEOUL (both seasons).
In 2024, Ryeoun is the main lead in the upcoming Weak Hero Class 2, so if he does accept a role in Namib, it will be his second major drama of 2024.
We will let you know as soon as the Korean actor’s involvement is confirmed or denied.
