I have got to say I am always happy when an older South Korean actor hits the top spot on any Korean popularity chart.
That’s why I grinned from ear to ear earlier today when I read the November Movie Star Brand Reputation Rankings via data from the Korean Business Research Institute and saw Ryu Seung Ryong’s name right at the top.
Ryu Seung Ryong, of course, is 53-years-old and just made it to #1 on the Movie Star Reputation Rankings chart for November due to currently starring in Amazon Bullseye alongside Jin Seon Kyu, Yeom Hye Ran, and Go Kyung Pyo.
That newly released Korean comedy drama hit movie theaters on October 30th, and sold half a million tickets in its first week.
The November Movie Star Brand Reputation Rankings Top 10
Along with Ryu Seung Ryong in the #1 spot, Park Seo Joon who hasn’t starred in a film since last year’s Concrete Utopia and his supporting role in The Marvels the same year, was at #2, Gong Yoo (Wonderland) was at number #3, Uhm Tae Goo at #4 (My Sweet Mobster), and Song Seung Heon (Black Knight).
No, most of the men in the Top 5 are not currently starring in any film.

They do, however, appear in advertising campaigns in South Korea, have upcoming projects, and have a large fan base.
Finishing out the Top 10, we have Cha Seung Won (Uprising) at #6, Lee Jung Jae (soon to star in Season 2 of Squid Game) at #7, Ma Dong Seok (The Roundup: Punishment) at #8, Kim Tae Ri (hasn’t been in in a film since Alienoid: Return to the Future in January of this year)Â at #9, and Lee Byung Hun (Concrete Utopia) at #10.
And, yes, as you might notice most of the men on this list are over the age of 35, and most are over the age of 45.
Yay!
