While the first season of the Korean drama The Escape of the Seven was a very popular show, that popularity does not seem to have carried over to Season 2 — The Escape of the Seven: Resurrection — which is currently struggling to keep the attention of its audience.

That struggle continued last night when The Escape of the Seven: Resurrection, Episode 6 aired to another plummeting rating, after the K-drama recovered briefly on Friday night with Episode 5.

According to Nielsen Korea, The Escape of the Seven: Resurrection, Episode 6 earned just 2.4 percent of the nationwide audience share on Saturday night.

That is a substantial drop from Friday’s 3.1 percent, and .30 percent lower than its previous lowest ever rating, which it earned for Episode 4.

It is also the lowest rating the K-drama has received — for either Season 1 or Season 2.

Considering the Korean revenge drama premiered on March 29th with a 4.4 percent nationwide rating, it is also now earning just about half of its initial audience.

Meanwhile, it was also down from being the 17th most-watched show on South Korean TV on Friday night to the 26th most-watched last night.

The Escape of the Seven: Resurrection Episode 6 rating in Seoul

Things don’t look that much better for the K-drama in Seoul, where last night’s episode also earned its lowest rating yet of 2.9 percent. (Update: And yes, the K-drama’s ratings can fall even lower)

The show’s only saving grace in that region was the Korean drama’s audience drop in Seoul wasn’t as large versus its previous episode’s 3.4 percent.

The Escape of the Seven: Resurrection stars Um Ki Joon, Hwang Jung Eum, Lee Joon, Lee Yu Bi, Shin Eun Kyung, Yoon Jong Hoon, Jo Yoon Hee, and Jo Jae Yoon.

It airs in South Korea on SBS TV every Friday and Saturday evening through May 18th, with Viki streaming the K-drama for international audiences.

Fingers crossed its ratings will be back up next weekend as, honestly, while it’s a little too over-acted for my liking, it is still a very entertaining show.

Viewers on Viki are also rating it a 9.4 out of 10, so it can’t be that bad.
