Tokyo Twenty Fourth Ward trailer shows how gorgeous this anime will be — Watch!

Late last month, the production committee of the upcoming original TV anime Tokyo Twenty Fourth Ward released the show’s first key visual — and it was beautiful.

Today, it’s the turn of the Tokyo Twenty Fourth Ward trailer.

The first trailer to be released for the anime series, and one that proves even further how gorgeous the show will be, and how beautifully designed the characters.

It also features the show’s opening theme song — “Paper Sky” performed by the Tokyo-based rock band Survive Said the Prophet — and, man, is that a kick ass song.

Along with the first Tokyo Twenty Fourth Ward trailer, we got a new key visual and, yep, it is just as stunning as the first one.

The Tokyo Twenty Fourth Ward trailer also introduces the main cast members:.

They include Junya Enoki (Jujutsu Kaisen) who will play Shuta Aoi, Yūma Uchida (Banana Fish) who voices Ran Akagi, Kaito Ishikawa (The Rising of the Shield Hero) as Koki Suido, Manaka Iwami (Fruits Basket) as Asumi Suido, Yui Makino (Angel Beats!) playing Mari Sakuragi, and Hitomi Nabatame (Elfen Leid) voicing Sakiko Kurokatsugawa.

According to Anime News Network, the plot of Tokyo Twenty Fourth Ward (aka Tokyo 24-ku in Japan) goes like this:

The anime takes place on an artificial island floating in Tokyo Bay, nicknamed “24th Ward.” It centers on three childhood friends born and raised on the island: Ran, Koki, and Shuta. The three have different social standings, hobbies, and personalities, but they are always hanging out together. But their relationships will change dramatically after a tragic incident.

At a memorial ceremony one year after the incident, the three meet again, then all get a phone call. The call is from a friend they thought was dead, urging them to “choose the future.”.

Watch the new Tokyo Twenty Fourth Ward trailer below, and enjoy that beautiful art style, and those lovely character designs.

The anime itself premieres January 5th, 2022. It is being animated by CloverWorks.
